Canadian experience class

The Canadian experience class is prescribed as a class of persons who may become permanent residents on the basis of their ability to become economically established in Canada, their experience in Canada, and their intention to reside in a province other than the Province of Quebec.

A foreign national is a member of the Canadian experience class if
  1. They have acquired in Canada, within the three years before the date on which their application for permanent residence is made, at least one year of full-time work experience, or the equivalent in part-time work experience, in one or more occupations that are listed in Skill Type 0 Management Occupations or Skill Level A or B of the NOC 
  2. They have had their proficiency in the English or French language evaluated by an organization or institution that is designated under subsection 74(3) using a language test that is approved under that subsection, the results of which must indicate that the foreign national has met the applicable threshold that is fixed by the Minister under subsection 74(1) for each of the four language skill areas , 

Minimum Requirements:

Language

  1. CLB 5 or 6 for experience at level B of NOC 
  2. CLB 7 or 8 for experience at level O/A of NOC

Experience: 

  • 1 year full time or equivalent part time in last 3 years. This experience must have been obtained with a legal status in Canada. Any experience acquired during the study permit period is not considered an eligible experience for the purpose of Permanent Residence application as a skilled worker. 
  • An eligible experience is that which is obtained with a valid work Permit, either, open or closed. 
  • Education: 

No requirement of any formal education. However, if you have a Canadian Secondary or Post secondary qualification or a foreign secondary or post secondary qualification, you will get additional points for your qualification. 

Pre-Requisites: 

Applicants who meet the Education, Age, and Experience criteria are required to fulfill the Pre-requisites before submitting the application. These include: 

  1. Language Proficiency Test
  2. Degrees Evaluation from Canada 

Proof of Language proficiency is a must for every applicant whosoever applies for Canadian Permanent Residence as a skilled worker. There is no exception for any one even if you are from an English / French-speaking country or have education from Canada or any other English speaking country. 

Your foreign qualifications, other than those awarded by Canadian Universities and colleges must have been awarded an equivalency before you apply for Canadian Permanent Residence.

  1. ADMISSIBILITY ASSESSMENT

After completion of the eligibility review, applicants and any accompanying family members are assessed for Admissibility as per the Canadian Immigration & Refugees Protection Act. The admissibility assessment process can take longer depending upon the country of origin of the applicant, country of Application and several other factors.
